About the Black Healthcare Awards
Since the National Health Service was established in July 1948, people of Black Caribbean and African heritage have played a fundamental role in the delivery of its care.
Yet, until 2024, no awards ceremony had existed to specifically target Black healthcare professionals in the UK.
With the help of highly esteemed patrons and judges, the Caribbean & African Health Network (CAHN) set about changing that – and the inaugural Black Healthcare Awards were held on 27th July 2024, to great acclaim!
“It was humbling to be in a room with so many Black healthcare professionals!”
“What an epic night!”
the words of some of our guests for the 2024 edition
The Black Healthcare Awards are unique in that they place the spotlight exclusively on Black healthcare professionals of Caribbean and African heritage. Saluting individuals from across the country who are carving out pioneering pathways and delivering exceptional care, the Black Healthcare Awards bring us all a yearly opportunity to celebrate our community’s heroes and to come together for a night of collective inspiration!
The award categories for 2025 have now been announced! You can nominate your health hero here – and yes, you can even nominate yourself!
