2026 Nominations are Now Open!

About the Black Healthcare Awards

Since the National Health Service was established in July 1948, people of Black Caribbean and African heritage have played a fundamental role in the delivery of its care. Yet, until 2024, no awards ceremony existed that specifically recognised Black healthcare professionals in the UK.

With the support of highly esteemed patrons, sponsors and judges, the Caribbean & African Health Network (CAHN) set out to change that with sold out events in 2024 and 2025 these editions were attended by hundreds of guests.

Some of the words shared by guests following our earlier editions:

“It was humbling to be in a room with so many Black healthcare professionals.”

“What an epic night!”

The Black Healthcare Awards are unique in that they place the spotlight exclusively on Black healthcare professionals of Caribbean and African heritage. Saluting individuals from across the country who are carving out pioneering pathways and delivering exceptional care, the awards provide a yearly opportunity to celebrate our community’s heroes and come together for a night of collective inspiration.

The award categories for the 2026 Black Healthcare Awards have now been announced. You can nominate your health hero – and yes, you can even nominate yourself.

The 2026 Black Healthcare Awards, taking place in London on 4 July 2026, will once again be supported by prominent Black leaders from a wide range of professional fields. These individuals will lend their expertise and insight by serving as Patrons and judges for this year’s edition.
