Nominations for the Black Healthcare Awards 2025 are now open! After the success of the inaugural awards ceremony last year, we are looking forward to receiving an even higher number of nominations this year! Thank you to all who have already submitted their nominations for the 2025 awards.

Judging will be carried out by our expert panel and the shortlist will be announced later in 2025.

Description and criteria 

The Black Healthcare Awards celebrate the achievements of Black individuals from African, Caribbean, and diaspora backgrounds who have demonstrated excellence in healthcare.

We encourage nominations for professionals or students (where applicable) who have made a significant impact in their field. Whether you are a colleague inspired by someone’s dedication or an individual who wants to self-nominate, we welcome your submission.

Areas of Professional Work

We are proud to recognise healthcare professionals and students across diverse sectors, including:

  • Hospital Services
  • Primary Care Services
  • Community Services (including prison healthcare, army healthcare, and more)
  • Private, Public, and Voluntary Sectors

Eligible roles span all levels of healthcare professions, such as:

  • Medical Professionals
  • Dentistry
  • Nursing
  • Pharmacy

What we are looking for from each of our nominees:

Nominees for the Black Healthcare Awards 2025 should demonstrate:

  • A commitment to improving the quality of care for service users.
  • Strong collaboration with colleagues to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Registration as a professional or enrollment as a student in a healthcare-related programme.

We are looking for evidence of:

Determination to improve care for patients and service-users

  • Excellence
  • Innovation

Nominees must be registered health professionals or students registered on programmes which lead to healthcare vocations.
